How Cancer tends to show up
Cancer arrives with the June solstice. As a water sign it's led by feeling, and as a cardinal one it takes the first step, so its care tends to show up before anyone asks, sometimes as a casserole on the doorstep. Its ruler is the Moon, which brings moods that shift like its phases, and a pull toward home and the kitchen table.
Cancer has a long memory and a soft spot for whoever needs looking after: it knows how everyone takes their coffee and which friend hates surprises. Like the crab, it has a shell: a tougher outside that people usually see first, protecting what's tender underneath. Inside, it's quick to read a mood and quicker to protect its own.
Because Cancer feels so much, a passing remark can land like a verdict. When that happens, it may pull into its shell and wait for someone to notice, while still making sure everyone else has eaten. Saying out loud what it needs works better than dropping hints. Letting someone else do the cooking for once helps, too.
