Your Ascendant, or rising sign, is the sign that was coming up over the eastern horizon at the exact minute of your birth, as seen from your birthplace. In astrology, it's the first impression you make, how you tend to come across before people get to know you. On average it changes signs every two hours, so finding yours takes the exact time and place of your birth, not just the date. If you don't know your birth time, the free chart can't show your Ascendant.
