How Capricorn tends to show up
The December solstice is where Capricorn begins. Its mode is cardinal and its element earth, so it starts things, but things meant to last, like a foundation poured now for a house built over years. From Saturn, its ruler, come patience and a real respect for how long good things take. The sea-goat, a goat with a fish's tail, is at home on the mountain and in deep water alike.
Discipline tends to come easily here: Capricorn can make a five-year plan and actually stick to it, getting up early on the days nobody would notice if it didn't. It takes on the hard jobs, as a rule, and finishes them. The humor is dry: a one-liner delivered with a straight face in the middle of a serious meeting.
Capricorn can push itself harder than any boss would. Work may crowd out everything else, and its reserve can read as coldness to the people close to it. Putting play and rest on the schedule, as firmly as a deadline, makes a difference. Asking for a hand early is worth it, and so is stopping to notice how far it has come.
